Home Away From Home

Everytime I go to Vancouver, I can't resist heading down to Kits beach to enjoy the sun, the ocean and the gorgeous view of downtown. My brother used to live close to here so we would always walk down, it's such a great place to spend the day reading a book or soaking up the sun. I haven't been to Vancouver in the summer in way too long, I think I am going to plan a roadtrip so I can enjoy the ocean properly.

This plaid dress was a fantastic purchase made at the beginning of January. It's super comfortable and is such a fantastic pattern; I can never get enough plaid. The nice weather had me more than happy to bust out my denim jacket. I think for the summer I'm going to get another one in a lighter shade, because they go with everything.

Spunky

I have some good news and some bad news. It's almost the end of February which means Spring is just around the corner but that also means that heart month is almost over. If you have a moment make sure to head over to the Heart and Stroke Foundation to donate to heart health research! It's such a great cause, and they do amazing work

It's been a very frigid February around these parts but the highlight has definitely been getting to bust out all my heart printed items and reds for a good cause. This leopard print heart tee was buried in my closet and I was quite happy to see it. I love that it's not pink or red or super girly as most heart printed items usually are. I layered it over my favourite red dress and added my spiked necklace for a bit of sass.

Seeing Double

Good Morning my loves, I hope your week is coming along significantly more stress free than mine. This week and next are full of projects, papers and midterms. I did bring this upon myself now didn't I? I just haaad to go back for 2 more years of post secondary. Who are we kidding, I love it. What can I say? I'm a glutton for punishment obviously.

Ya know what else I love? This Boston Terrier sweater from Skip n Whistle. I can't help but pair it with my real life Boston terrier (& French bulldog) who was more than happy to come along for photos if it meant playing catch in the leaves afterwards. This time of the year is perfect for layering, sweaters and jackets are not only cozy but I love the way they look together. I finally caved and started wearing tights, but it worked perfectly because this skirt is a wee bit on the short side.

We Bundled Up

Good Morning m'loves! It's Friday!! I am most excited for the weekend, I have to get caught up on some readings but I get to meet up with a couple of my girlfriends for drinks. One of whom recently got engaged, exciting stuff!

The weather has taken a turn for the cold here lately; its been wet, rainy and incredibly chilly. But all the more better to get cozy and get layer up! I adore this time of year and wearing layers upon layers makes me so happy. This scarf is essentially a giant blanket, and paired with this super soft skirt it's like I'm wearing pajamas. Stylish pajamas though! This is definitely going to be a go-to ensemble/colour combination for fall :)

Indian Summer

Good Morning my dears! I hope you all had a wonderful week and are ready for the weekend. It's been a shorter week, but it's felt like a really long one. It's all good things though! And there's a football game this evening, Go eskimos! I am well aware at this point in the season it seems like a lost cause, but green and gold all the way.

This white lace dress is definitely becoming a useful piece in my wardrobe, it's so comfortable and easy to wear. It's been so hot here this week, but this dress was a no brainer to throw on and the denim jacket is perfect in the morning and evening when it's a little crisper. The best thing about a LWD (little white dress) is that it's the perfect blank slate for accessories, like this chevron clutch. Easily one of my favourite purses :)

Alley Kat

Hey There Loves!! Time for the start of another week, but after an especially chill weekend, I am ready for it. It was so nice to work out, watch movies all weekend and spend sunday with my gal pals. Brunch is my favourite meal of all time! We went to Urban Diner, which is one of my top picks for brunch, seriously eggs benny or the veg frittata for ever!

I got stopped wearing this Cat dress along whyte ave about 4 or 5 times from people saying they loved it and wanted to know where I got it. I believe this was a fantastic investment and love that I could wear it casually with denim and neon accents and that it's easy to dress up too. Also, how rockin' are these neon orange heels I picked up?!

Neon and Floral

Hey There!! I hope everyone has had a fantastic weekend, mine has been jam packed and amazing. I want to thank everyone who came out and participated in the blogger sale and everyone who supported us! It was wonderful to spend the day with my awesome blogging friends, we had a good time and sold some stuff so it was fun. It's holiday monday today so no work or school, I wish every week had a long weekend, that'd be the best

I got this dress AND purse from Vickie at the blogger sale. I snatched this purse up the moment I spotted it, because it's fueling my obsession with bright coloured purses for spring and summer. And I can't resist this dress, it's the perfect summer floral sundress. This look was the perfect thing for a sunday of cruising my bike around the trails and paths around my house and grabbing a delicious iced coffe. I am really loving the weather here and trying to soak it up.

Pale Pastels

Good Morning Loves!! I hope everyone had an absolutely wonderful weekend, mine was really great. The weather finally turned around here and it was so beautiful and warm, mid 20s (celcius) and the sun was shining. I spent a lot of time with friends on patios and walking Mr.Duke around when I wasn't at work.

I was struggling what to wear at the end of last week when a package arrived at my door with my swap with Jessica of Midwest Muse with this dress is in. How absolutely perfect for spring!!! I love the pale floral print and it even has a little cut out in the back. I'm smitten with it (haha) and have a couple other ways I want to try to wear it before I have to send it off again. I loved the way it worked for a casual look with my denim jacket and more pastels with this mint purse.

Ps. How shocked are you to see my bare frickin legs?!

Ketchup and Mustard!

Good Morning Lovelies!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, mine was really great. We had a great time celebrating my friends birthday, and the Oilers had a fantastic game to finish off the season. I'm obviously dissapointed they didn't make the playoff's but watching them cream Vancouver 7-2 was pretty fantastic. And now I have to wait until June for football season to start!

This is what I wore for a nice long Duke walk on a pretty nice day this past week, most of the snow is melted now and soon the grass is going to start turning green, I'm pretty excited! Since the snow's melting it's definitely rubber boot season, time to splash in puddles! For this walk Mr.Duke and I matched with his red hoodie and my little red dress. This dress is wonderful, it's perfect for a night out, but also worked for a more casual look layered with my denim jacket and moustache scarf! How cute is this print by the way?!
