Rust Never Sleeps

 photo leopard2_zps089da762.jpg
Leopard print is one of those prints that I absolutely love but when it comes to styling it, I sometimes get stumped. It has the tendency to look harsh in certain looks, as well as can age you. But when done right it looks edgy and even classic. Which is why I can never say no to a good leopard printed piece.
This top somehow got lost in my closet, I actually found it mixed in with my collection of scarves? How things end up where they do in my room is a testament to the fury and wildness in which I literally throw together outfits. Anyways I'm glad I unearthed this piece, it was perfect to dress up with my glitzy necklace and rust coloured skirt. It felt like a good balance of edge with some more feminine pieces. Also, I can see this top working well for more casual ensembles too, which I'll be needing seeing as I go back to school today!

Seeing Double

 photo leo_zps68eced67.jpg
Good Morning my loves, I hope your week is coming along significantly more stress free than mine. This week and next are full of projects, papers and midterms. I did bring this upon myself now didn't I? I just haaad to go back for 2 more years of post secondary. Who are we kidding, I love it. What can I say? I'm a glutton for punishment obviously.
Ya know what else I love? This Boston Terrier sweater from Skip n Whistle. I can't help but pair it with my real life Boston terrier (& French bulldog) who was more than happy to come along for photos if it meant playing catch in the leaves afterwards. This time of the year is perfect for layering, sweaters and jackets are not only cozy but I love the way they look together. I finally caved and started wearing tights, but it worked perfectly because this skirt is a wee bit on the short side.

Newfound Bliss

 photo maxi3_zps3e51bcaa.jpg
Good Morning m'loves, I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!! Mine was great, I went out a bit, relaxed a lot and spent a wonderful Sunday with some of my best friends taking in some of the films at the Edmonton International Film Festival, which were all amazing.
I wore this for the fashion show on Wednesday evening, I knew I had to wear this Maxi I bought from Decadence before the weather got too cold to show off it's fantastic back. I fell in love with it months ago but finally decided to give in and get it, the combination of the low back, the pockets and the fact that it's comfortable was my bliss point. As I get older I definitely am more accepting of my body, and this dress makes me really happy to be small chested. I can get away with so many more things than my big chested friends; sorry ladies ;)
Also, this sun setting earlier and earlier thing is getting on my nerves...

Put a Bulldog on it

 photo leopard_zps34cc1fb3.jpg
Good Morning m'dears! I hope you're all having a wonderful week, it's all down hill from here! Just a reminder to my Edmonton and area readers there is another fashion show tonight as well as tomorrow evening at the Transalta Art Barn for Western Canada's Fashion Week. I am super excited for the show this evening, it should be a good one ;)
I have to say the crazy dog owner in my is so happy French Bulldog prints are trendy this season. I will eventually have an entire wardrobe made up of duke print, muahaha. Does this solidify my status as Crazy dog lady? Perhaps...
Anyways, this leopard print blazer is the perfect way to dress up a casual look of jeans and a printed tank top. Not to mention some popping neon with these fantastic shoes. It's been a while since I wore jeans, but I must say I'm digging them more than I have in the past. I love the slight worn look to this pair especially.

For the Love of Leopard

 photo leopard_zps26f2d1f3.jpg
Good Morning my loves! And a very happy Friday to you all. I hope everyone has a more exciting weekend planned than myself, I shall be stuck working on projects and homework. Although they are fun projects at least, and I need a low key weekend after being sick all week anyways. If any of you are around Edmonton you should absolutely check out Western Canada Fashion Week, tonight is the emerging designer competition which is a great way to showcase new talent.
Here is my outfit from the amazing blog sale we hosted last weekend. It was a really gorgeous day, and I was going to moving around a lot so I reached for this leopard print number I love. As it turns out great minds think alike because the gorgeous Kassandra of Kastles wore the same one! She rocked it with a leather vest and layered necklaces.  I love leopard print for fall but I couldn't resist pairing it with a bit of neon with this T & J design's necklace and some bright orange finger nails.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Summer Grunge

 photo night_zps83747374.jpg
Good Morning my dears! I hope you all had an amazing long weekend and are having a great week so far. Short week's are the best!! And I must say a long weekend was definitely what the doctor ordered, I am feeling much better.
This "dress" is actually a nightgown I picked up from the clearance section at Urban Outfitters a couple years ago and has been a surprisingly well loved piece in my wardrobe. Not only is it incredibly comfortable (hello, it's a nightgown) but it's so pretty too with the bits of gold glitter all over. I paired it with my most loved item of the summer, this lace crop top and I love the combination, a bit grungy but still light enough for summer!! Toss in a bit of mustard, and some leopard print and I was good to go.

Leopards and Launch Parties

 photo leo4_zps159504bf.jpg
Hey There loves, I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and spent some time with their dads on sunday. I made my pop breakfast and we went to the new superman movie which was fantastic!!
This is what I wore last week to the Poppy Barley flats launch party, which was so much fun. The weather was really horrible last week and was raining on and off but luckily it stopped long enough to snap these. I had completely forgotten about this blazer until cleaning out my closet a couple weeks ago and I'm pretty happy I found it, I really love leopard print. And who doesn't love a good dose of neon?
xJennaD
Here are some snaps from the party, good food (truffle oil popcorn?!) good wine, music and best of all some great shoes. They are made to measure, which is fantastic because then they fit you perfectly. And especially useful for those with wide/narrow and different sized feet. Check out their website here

Blushing Leopard

 photo leopard_zps9e9257af.jpg
Hey There Loves!! Mr.Duke is starting to feel better, he's back at home and appreciates all your wishes for him to get better. His surgery was successful, he's pretty drugged up but he is on the mend and I am so happy to have him home! We will now have matching tummy scars, which is kind of ridiculous.
I got this dress from Alyssa from the Ordinary People's blog at our blogger sale!! It was just too tempting to have a room full of other blogger's clothes to not do a wee bit of shopping. I think I showed a lot of restraint to only get a few things! I couldn't resist this blush coloured dress, it's gorgeous, light and insanely girly. So of course I had to pair it with this leopard print blazer and studded belt to add a bit of edge!
I hope everyone enjoys their weekend, I'm going to be working and nursing my puppy boy back to health :)
