Big Red

 

I would run away to Vancouver again in a heart beat if I could at this moment. Tests, projects and commitments be damned! Even though they're getting snow right now it's still about 20 degrees warmer. Spring could not come fast enough here.

Bright red, grey and black are an easy go-to for me, it's simple but I love it. This outfit was so perfectly comfortable for traipsing around Vancouver on an overcast day. We headed to North Van in the morning for the most amazing pancakes of my whole life at Ethical Kitchen. Then we headed back downtown to check out the Olympic Village; I was surprised I had not been down there on all my travels. It was a lot of fun and such a beautiful part of the city to check out.

It's Pumpin' Blood

The first official look of Heart Month 2014!! I was walking past Bang On on whyte avenue last week when I caught a glimpse of a heart printed tee in the window and I HAD to go in and get one made for myself. I decided to go with a grey tee because they're perfectly versatile and a blue decal. I could have gone red but that seemed a bit too literal.

So here I am a hater of pants in the past as a convert to leading a life of two legged confinement. I think I just needed to find the right pair because these are super comfortable and don't make me feel like I can't lunge if I want to. And you better believe I want to. I love the way they can be dressed up with a blazer, heels and a fun necklace too. Easy peasy!

A Few of My Favourite Things

So here I am again, wearing pants. It crazy how I spent almost all of last year and the one before that avoiding wearing jeans or pants of most kind. When I finally found a pair of jeans that I liked this past summer everything kind of switched for me. And when I picked up these high waisted leggings from Zara I questioned how I had lived without them for so long!
Not only are they incredibly comfortable, they're easy to dress up or down. Pieces that are versatile are without a doubt worth an investment! Paired simply with a grey long sleeve, my favourite two tone leather jacket, I added a pop of colour with this necklace.

Fresh

I can't believe this is my first post of 2014, can we all agree how quickly 2013 flew by? I feel that way a lot these days, that time is flying by! I do plan on trying to slow things down in the next year and really enjoy it.

I've been doing my best to enjoy my downtime while school is on break and have been happy to be able to go for long walks with my main man Mr.Duke and my family when the weather cooperates. On nicer days I love to bust out my leather jacket, and layer it with a cozy knit, like this adorable French Bulldog print sweater. It's always fun to add a bit of bling to any look like this amazing necklace I got from my parents for Christmas. It's safe to say I'm in love with it!

Casual Sunday

Good Morning my loves!! I hope you all had an absolutely amazing weekend and are enjoying some time off. I am doing my best to get some R n R whilst on my break from school, I'm feeling a bit under the weather but it's awesome to be able to just chill, read and watch movies! 

This is a super casual look today; I feel like my style is definitely leaning more to the casual side of the spectrum for everyday life these days. However, I still like to feel pulled together with pieces I can dress up or down. Having a wardrobe that's incredible versatile with every piece being comfortable really is the dream. And there is something just so perfect and quintessential about plaid or flannel in the winter time that I can't resist. Also, how amazing is this scarf that my friend knit for me for secret santa? Not only is it the perfect colour but it's sooo cozy

Baby, It's Cold Outfit

Good Morning m'loves, I can't believe there's only a week until Christmas! I braved the mall yesterday to finish off my shopping and I must say the malls at this time of the year kind of drive me bonkers. That's why I am so thankful for online shopping, so I can get everything I need from the comfort of my own home. I recently discovered surfdome and am very happy I did!
With life as crazy as it's been with school, the upcoming holidays and the cold weather I've been dressing in layers to keep comfortable and warm. This polka dot button up is the perfect piece to layer under my sweaters, and like this under this denim vest and cozy scarf. I love finding lightweight pieces to layer without adding bulk!

Christmas Colours

Good Morning there my darlings! I hope your week has started off on a good note, this is a particularly stressful one for me with several exams but by Friday I'm going to be as free a bird and I get 3 whole weeks off for Christmas. Which will be fantastic, filled with family, friends and FOOD!

Now that it's getting closer to Christmas I am totally in the mood for dressing for Christmas, red/green/white, maybe a reindeer print thrown in there for good measure? I ended up getting this gorgeous sweater from Jcrew a few weeks ago on sale plus another 40% off! I'm so in love with the dark green colour, and hounds tooth pattern, it's incredibly soft and easy to dress up. Add some layered necklaces, a bold red lip, gold jewelry and it's a simple look while still being put together

The Eternal Wanderer

Hey There m'loves, I hope your week is coming along swimmingly. Mine has been good, I've just been so tired though. I guess that's what happens when you're in school full time, work part time and blog. Oh and keep up with an adorable pup named Mr.Duke. I shouldn't complain too much, I really love being busy, because I'm a freak.

This "Wander Eternal" skeleton tank from the Weekend Society is quickly becoming my favourite casual piece. I love me anything with a skeleton or skull on it (must be my teenage angst bubbling to the surface) and the weekend society's pieces always remind me to look for adventure. I decided to style it in the typical Canadian fashion with a plaid button down, some ripped denim and my khaki jacket. All this snow has me aching for a weekend away in the Rockies! If you've never been to Banff or Jasper, you must put in on your bucket list, I'm lucky enough to live quite close.

Old Man Winter

Good Morning Lover's, I hope you are enjoying your long weekend today. I am super thankful for this day off to catch up on homework as I had to work all weekend. Also since it's Remembrance Day, I'm thankful for all those veterans and people who ensure I get to live a safe and awesome life!

So, can I tell you a secret? This sweater, it's from the boys department. No, not the men's department, the little boys department. That's right ladies and gents, I have the body of a large boy, who knew?! I was pretty stoked when I tried this skull sweater on at Joe Fresh and it fit perfectly, I knew my short torso and small bust would work in my favour one day! Distressed jeans, a cozy sweater, funky necklaces and boots are quickly becoming my uniform now that Old Man Winter has decided to hang out here in the great white north for the next 6 months.

Also, I may have an addiction to gingerbread lattes...Help?

A Duke a Day

Good Morning m'loves!! I hope you all are having a wonderful week and looking forward to the weekend as much as myself. It's Thanksgiving up here in Canada this weekend and I always spend it with family and friends. We do a yearly potluck where we all get all dressed up and I'm really excited :)

This is more of a casual look for me for a long day at school. I know I have a problem with buying Duke printed clothing, but this sweater is not only cute it's incredibly cozy. I got it for my birthday back in August and have been patiently waiting for the weather to change so I could wear it! I added the studded vest, and flats to add a bit of edge to this simple look.
