Baby, It's Cold Outfit

Good Morning m'loves, I can't believe there's only a week until Christmas! I braved the mall yesterday to finish off my shopping and I must say the malls at this time of the year kind of drive me bonkers. That's why I am so thankful for online shopping, so I can get everything I need from the comfort of my own home. I recently discovered surfdome and am very happy I did!
With life as crazy as it's been with school, the upcoming holidays and the cold weather I've been dressing in layers to keep comfortable and warm. This polka dot button up is the perfect piece to layer under my sweaters, and like this under this denim vest and cozy scarf. I love finding lightweight pieces to layer without adding bulk!

Bang for my Buck

Good Morning and a very very happy Friday to you all!! It's been a very busy week with Western Canada's Fashion Week wrapping up and projects being due, so I'm pretty excited for the weekend. I need some R & R (and not just the rye) how about you?

This is what I wore out to the fashion show on Tuesday evening, which was a much needed break from school. I am so obsessed with this jacket I got for fall, it goes with everything I own. I think it was a worthwhile purchase! This dress was a big favorite from spring/summer, polka dots are always such a fun pattern and I was happy to be able to transition this piece into fall. I am definitely one of those people who want to get the most bang for my buck ;)

Black, White and Bold

Hey There loves, I hope you all had a spectacular weekend! As you know I attended my brothers graduation and had a good time with my family. It's crazy that it's been 6 years since I myself graduated high school. I graduated from University last year but I didn't attend my convocation, because honestly they're so long and drawn out. I would be sitting in a room with 500 strangers listening to profs I didn't know giving speeches. I have my diploma and I'm happy with that!

This is my outfit for the convocation in the morning, I love doing black and white with bold pops of colour and this dress is just so perfect. Big bold polka dots and a 1950's fit and flare silohette to it made it work perfectly for a casual, yet dressy look. It was a pretty hectic day, so these photos aren't the best quality, I was rushing my dad through them because I was starving. And I am not a very nice person when I'm hungry (you've been warned...)

This is by far my absolute favourite tee shirt of all time. It combines two of my favourite things, the beautiful and timeless Audrey Hepburn and Zombies!! And I think every gal (or guy for that matter) needs a super comfy easy white tee. This one goes absolutely perfectly with every single one of my skirts, and makes for such an easy, perfect summer look everytime. This is definitely something you'll be seeing more of it in the next couple months, be warned ;)

Taking the Weekend By Storm

Hey There Loves, It's friday!! I hope everyone's looking forward to the weekend as much as I am, it's the long weekend here and it is muchly needed because this has been a crazy week. It's bound to be a crazy weekend with the blogger sale tomorrow and then my friends Mad Men party, but I'm pretty excited about all of that!

What better way to embrace the weekend than by wearing my Weekend Society tank? This is literally the most comfortable tank top I own, and I love the quote on it; it says "Those who wander are not always rootless". What a wonderful sentiment, and the idea behind the society is to go on adventures, take on new experience and make the most of the weekend and I am planning on doing just that! I love the way it mixed with my polka dot skirt and neon purse. The perfect casual look to take the weekend by storm.

Sweet Spring

Good Morning Loves!! I spent last night sorting some stuff for the blogger sale this coming weekend and I have to say I'm looking forward to it. It's nice to be able to get rid of some stuff and clean out some space. Going through my clothes really reminded me that I do not need to be shopping and therefore I am claiming to all my beautiful readers I am on a shopping ban until the end of June. There's an exception that I do need a pair of sandals (I only have 2 pairs of falling apart ones!) but I'm going to try to budget that smartly.

This is an outfit I put together for a night out with friends, I got this simple summer dress last year and it's a go-to for me on really hot days because it's so lightweight and wonderful. I decided to try to dress it up a bit with these comfy strappy heels, my leather jacket and this awesome envelope clutch. I found this clutch at winners and could not resist it, the chevron print and colours are perfect for summer. Such a fun piece for a night out, I especially love that it has a handle. Also this dress, the print is tiny hearts and it has pockets, doesn't get better than that!!

Casual Sunday

Good Morning Loves!! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend, mine was super nice and chill. I rode my bicycle around a lot and enjoyed the lovely weather. Today I'm going to spend it with my mum looking at plants and cooking her a tasty steak dinner, yum yum.

Is it just me or does anyone else find casual dressing in the summer harder? Winter layering makes it way easier to look casual and stylish. I also find it a lot harder to style pants and shorts than skirts and dresses, probably because I find it difficult to find tops I actually like. But this one I got for half off online for a boxing sale and have been anxiously awaiting warmer weather to wear it ever since. I love that it can be dressed up easily but also worn casually with some ripped jean shorts and my cute polka dot new keds for a bike ride. And if I didn't look totally ridiculous in hats I feel like this would have been a perfect hat look, but alas, I have a big head.

I've been clearing out my winter clothes and slowly bringing in Spring and Summer favourites to inspire me for the changeover in seasons and this seeing this skirt in my closet got me excited. This skirt  is the epitome of summertime dressing, easy, casual, comfortable and cute. I've honestly worn this skirt so many times over the past 2 summers and still love it. I can't wait to wear it a few more times but I decided I first needed to see all the ways i've worn it, and evidently I really like to print mix with this piece. I think the small polka dot print lends itself perfectly to print mixing.

The Windy City

Good Morning Loves!! I hope your weekend was excellent, mine was pretty good, spent some time with some awesome friends, worked out and worked. In case you couldn't tell I really do like to keep myself busy, I hate sitting around with nothing to do. But every now and then one needs to rest and Saturday afternoon/evening after I worked out I decided I needed to give my body a break. I laid in my bed watching Community and it was exactly what I needed!
It has been unreasonably windy here all last week and this weekend, and I absolutely hate when it's windy, it makes it difficult to walk the pup and frustruating to take outfit pictures. Half the shots I took this day had my hair in my face or my skirt swirling up towards my waist. Not in a Marilyn Monroe way either. But we made due because I really loved this look. This dress is so perfect for spring/summer, no sleeves, polka dotted and with the perfect amount of fit n flare. Pairing black and white with blush seemed like a no brainer!

Oh and Mr.Duke is just too much of a cutie not to share, hope his adorable mug makes your monday a little better ;)
