Visually Offensive

Hey darlings, I hope your week is coming along nicely! Mine is, I've got my weekend now because I worked all this past weekend. I am looking forward to hitting the gym, duke snuggles and watching some hockey! Luckily the temperature seems to be on the rise, lets just hope the snow decides to leave.

So the lighting is weird in these pictures but it was the only time I had to take them, and there was soo much snow. This purse is visually assaulting because of it's brightness and that makes me really happy. My little brother HATES it, he thinks its obnoxious, which is the exact reason why I love it so. I decided to keep the rest of my outfit pretty neutral, with this pretty polka dot blouse and grey skirt the purse really pops.

Wheat kings and Pretty Things

Good Morning lovelies!! I hope your week is moving along quickly and well, we're halfway to the weekend whoo-hoo! The weather here has been all over the map lately, one days it's -15 the next it's 0, what the hell? Mr. Duke and I ave definitely been taking advantage of the nice weather and taking some really nice long walks.
I have been loving combining brown, black and pops of red lately. It's so funny how blogging changes you, because a couple years ago I would have never combined black and brown which is so ridiculous now. This dress is actually a nightgown, but doesn't look very "nightgowny" and I love it, it's so ridiculously comfortable. I think I need some more nightgowns to wear as dresses, any ideas as to where to find some?! Also this one necklace I got as a gift from my secret santa and it came all the way from South America! It's perfect for layering with other jewellery :)

Print N Pop

Good Morning Lovelies! I hope yo had a wonderful weekend! Mine was good, pretty laid back actually but there is nothing wrong with that. My soccer started up again after the winter break and I am so happy to be back, it always feels like there's something missing when we're not playing! I have a great team of ladies that I get along with really well so that makes my Sunday's pretty awesome.

I am definitely more drawn to neutrals and darker shades in the winter months than in the summer. But that doesn't mean I don't love a nice pop of bright to contrast against black/white and grey. This dress is awesome, the pattern, the lightweight material, and the fact that it has a back cut out all make it one of my favorites. It's the perfect piece to let a bright blue scarf and egg blue nails pop. Also, I finally got my watch sized and am sooo happy with it, I won it through Kate of O My Hearts givaway! I was pretty pumped to win something so awesome. It goes perfect with my gold arm party

Back to Basics

Hey there, it's finally friday!! The weekend is here and I am quite ready for it! I'm ready to relax, hit the gym and get a ton of errands out of the way. Also, I am planning on checking out Django this and then going for drinks with some girlfriends this weekend. I've heard it's good and am really excited for it, as I am a pretty big Tarantino fan

So I've been all over the place with my wardrobe the past couple weeks and I realized the best thing to do is to not force anything. Just go back to basics and wear whatever I happen to feel comfortable in that moment and then build up from that. I chose to pair my simple LBD with lots of gold accessories, including this sparkly gold threaded cardigan I picked up for half off from Joe Fresh after Christmas. I wish the sparkle picked up more in these photos, but it's a lovely piece. And these super subtle polka dot tights are also from Joe Fresh and are quickly becoming my favorite, even though the feet already have so many holes in them.

Live With A Cinnamon Girl

 

Good Morning lovelies, I hope your week is going well! It's finally kicking in that I leave Saturday for Vancouver. I am going to see Neil Young with Crazy Horse with a good friend along with visit my big brother for a few days. It's going to be a fantastic trip I'm sure. 

I always think it's so funny when I hear people say that you can't wear black and brown together, it's something I used to think too. Lately I have been mixing a lot of brown and black, and I love the result, I think it's a great combination. A bright pop with some red lips seems like the perfect accessory. It's finally been cold enough to bust out my new royal blue coat that was a gift from my mom. I think it's the perfect colour for a winter coat, help keep away the winter blues ;)

Fall Florals

Good Morning lovelies. I hope you had a wonderful weekend, even though I felt a little under the weather I had a good one. Lots of comfy sweaters, spicy food, movies and hot tea made me feel very happy. Also my indoor soccer season has started again and I am so excited to be back to playing, I missed it for the month between outdoor and indoor.

 Soo, it got cold this weekend, so cold it snowed a bit! It's so easy to hate the long winters around here but I find I'm not bitter about it until it's -30 or January or February. Right now it still feels novel. And it's hard to be mad when I'm bundled in such comfy cozy layers and my favourite fall floral dress. I love the colour palette of this dress and it's easy loose fit is perfect for layering and the chiffon-like material feels amazing. I was inspired by Selective Potentials outfit I found on pinterest so I decided to try out with my own pieces

Time of the Season

 

Ello Loves, I hope you are all ready for a nice relaxing weekend, I most definitely am, I have a lot of turkey eating to do, along with walking through a corn maze, hitting up the farmers market and spending some quality time with my  friends and family. The weather has gotten super chilly this week but that has made for the perfect opportunity to bust out my tights, sweaters and scarves. I love cozy layers and have missed them over the hot summer months. 

This mustardy cardigan was one of my favourite fall purchases last year and I couldn't wait to wear it again. While a lot of people think this shade is ugly, I cannot get enough of it! There is something irresistible to me about the combination of an oversized grandpa sweater and cute dress. I will definitely wearing this combo a lot this fall/winter. This was the first time I wore these sweet polka dot tights  and I ripped a GIANT hole in them. Just my luck!
