Beat That Heat

 photo crop5_zps43ab2c76.jpg
Good Morning dears!! The week is halfway done, whooo! I actually have the day off and since it's supposed to be a beautiful day I intend to enjoy it. The nicest thing about working a random schedule and having to work some days on the weekend is having a day off in the middle of the week. Less people at the parks/shops/gym.
I am seriously obsessed with crop tops for really hot days, I think I'm going to have to invest in a few more because it's really all I want to wear right now! I must admit that I kind of like showing off my laparotomy scar, I think my scars are kind of sexy. Which is probably a good way to think of them! I made my very first trip into trip into Target a couple weeks ago, I have been avoiding shopping (especially big chain stores) but I needed a few things for camping. I was instantly distracted from my purpose by their women's section, I used a lot of restrain only picking up this neon skirt on clearance and a neon hoodie (ya know, so I didn't get lost in the dark while camping...) This skirt has pockets and is eye popping bright, so really how was I to say no?

Home sweet home & battle wounds round 4

Hello loves! I am finally home, I got released from the hospital yesterday and am so so happy to be home. It's really quite a lot easier to heal at home thats for sure. I have to sleep in my brothers room because I am not allowed to use stairs and have to be supervised haha, but my parents recently redid his room and bought him a huge comfy bed. Pretty happy about that!

I was supposed to go home on monday but on my way to get an echocardiagram I blacked out, my blood pressure fell ridiculously low and my vision went black and I couldn't hear. It was so scary!! I had never blacked out before, so obviously I thought I was dying. Which is funny now in hindesight. They figure I was just dehydrated because they plopped me back in bed, hooked me up to a ton of IV liquids (magnesium, potassium etc) and I felt much better. Every day I get a little bit stronger and stronger, which is good, the pain will subside less and less. I get to go on walks around the block and everyday they'll get a little longer and more frequent :)
I have I think 3 presurgery outfit posts that I can update with in the next week or so, I have missed everyone! But it will be a little while for new ones, I think. I'm just taking it easy! Thank you for all your wonderful words of encouragment by the way, you are all sooo great.

This ones kind of nice because it follows the line of a racerback tank top perfectly! It curves around just to my side before my breast starts. As you can see here my shoulder is quite swollen, which is normal

Battle Wounds part 3

Hey everybody, I just got home from the hospital today! Everything went really well on tuesday, they had to replace more of my artery than they thought they had to but it's all fixed. I finally have a pulse in my hand and my fingers are no longer white. Of course being in the hospital sucked but thankfully it was only 2 nights and now I'm back home to relax and recover. It's 6 full weeks until I'm 100% but I'll probably be more mobile sometime soon. Im suprised I could even rise my arm up that much.
*
They took the vein out of my leg to put it in my arm, so I have 3 3cm incisions on my inner thigh (no pictures yet, it's an awkward area to photograph haha) and the 25 cm (10 inch) incision pictured below. It's actually a lot less painful than my last 2 surgeries because they didn't cut through the muscle in my arm for this one. Unfortunatly I'm stuck in pajama pants for a few weeks because of my leg wounds. But I'll still try to update, I have a few photos from earlier this month I saved!
I look forward to seeing everyone's updates and commenting soon :)

Battle wounds round 2

Here are some photos of my newest battle wounds to add to my collection. I had the staples removed on monday and I feel much better and more mobile now that I no longer have them. Im no longer walking like an 80 year old (more like a 60yr old...) I've had lots of lovely visitors and my family has been great getting things for me if I need them. I went out for dinner last night actually with two of my best female friends who are both moving at the end of the week, one to BC and the other to Calgary both for school. I will miss them a lot, but it was nice to have dinner together one more time! Anyways here are my battle scars, and I look forward to how ridiculous I'm going to look in a bikini now....
Love, JennaD
No more staples!!

Battle Wounds

Greetings, I am posting this from my couch, which has been my home for the past week. It's been a tough week, a lot of pain and slowly getting better. My family takes me for walks every day, which makes me sound like a dog haha. Im not allowed to shower when theres no one in the house just in case something happens. It's been really weird, when I compare how I felt on monday to how I feel today it's a huge change. Today my dad, my mom and I went out and got lunch, I wore real pants!! It hurt but it was so lovely to be out of the house. I'm not walking like as much of an old lady anymore!! Yay! I still have a lot of healing to do, but it's nice to see a change and be getting a little bit better. And I have watched a million hours of fashion television and dexter! Dexter has become my new biggest addiction, I looove it. But I am getting bored sitting and watching TV, I keep dreaming about going to the gym and going for a run. Ahh well eventually. Hope everything out there in the cyber world has a great weekend! Be active on my behalf!
