Slutty Pajamas

...let me explain, when I tried this dress on one of my best guy friends said "It looks like slutty pajamas". Now it may just be me, but I don't think this dress is a) Slutty or b) looks like pajamas. But it makes me giggle everytime I wear it. Men, huh? It was kinda rainy here today, but I love the smell of rain and the fact that it's going to turn everything green! I really love thunder and lightning, I used to sit on my bed with the window open and watch and listen for hours.

I mixed the polka dot print of the dress with my leopard print belt and zebra striped tights. Nothing like some crazy animal print to brighten up any day!! I love the way all these prints mix together, tough and soft. I wanted to wear my new high heeled booties today, but I was sleepy and lazy. This dress is kind of an odd colour, the light pink, nudish colour I'm not too sure what other colours to pair it with. Any suggestions my stylish friends???

Down by the river

My younger brother had the day off school today and I didn't work until 1 so we went for a walk to starbucks and along the way took some pictures! We were down by the river listening to "down by the river" by Neil Young. So literal!! It was really gorgeous out, a little windy, but sunny and warm. I love going for walks when it's nice like this, it just puts me in such a great mood. It was nice to have my brother take my pictures because there was a lot of people walking around on this trail and my tripod would have been super awkward.

And yes I have my bright green purse in these pictures again. I am in love with it, get ready to see it a lot! I'm wearing my new polka dot skirt which I am really happy with, it's so bright and pretty. Vickie bought the same one in black! Since I'm super pale my light pink blouse blends into my skin here making me look a little nude? Whoops! Its such a pretty top though, has little pink beads scattered on it. & It's finally nice enough to wear my denim jacket, so perfect for spring/summer! We even spotted some green grass started to poke through :):D

Another week, another best of. This week was A LOT better than last week :) Hence why this is late, I was enjoying my weekend.

Shopping date with 2 amazing ladies and bloggers; Laughing a lot; 3 day weekend; bright green purses; tulips; FINALLY being able to walk in my back yard without being attacked by snow; Free cupcakes; clean closets and spring cleaning; Reading "Love in the time of Cholera" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez for the third time; Walks in the sunshine with the boy; Turkey dinners; Getting a lot more back in taxes than expected; Moving my winter clothes out of my closet; My easter bunny; Taking my mom spring shopping; All the wonderful, supportive people in my life

Also, this weekend I also dropped off my items for the over the top fashion swap! It's taking place next weekend here in Edmonton, at Telus field Saturday April 30th and Sunday May 1st. It's definitely time to clean out the closet and donate 6-12 pieces of clothing. You get a bronze, silver or gold token for each item based on quality and then you can use the tokens for new to you items. I'm really excited to try and find some cool new things. Theres going to be a "blogger" area with a bunch of edmonton bloggers donations (myself included). So if you live in the edmonton area be sure to check it out!!

Shopping Date

Hello there, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekends, I definitely am. And it's a long weekend, with gorgeous weather!! Yay! Yesterday I met up with Vickie and Shy at west edmonton mall and we had a great time shopping, had some lunch and snapped some pictures. It was really fun, a great day. They're both so much fun and sweet people & I'm so thankful for vickie for taking pictures for me, she's a doll!!

I decided to wear one of my favorite skirts that I had bought in Victoria. I print mixed it with my black and white tank that I got a few weeks ago. It's a little too low cut and I need to remember to wear a normal tank top underneath it next time I wear it. And I brought this ammmazing green bag, I'm in love with it. It's so bright and colourful!

Seein' Red

The wonderful and gorgeous Emma of Scrapbookdelaemma did an interview with me!! Be sure to check it out, I was so flattered that she wanted to interview me. It was so fun! :)

So this day I decided to wear a lot of red, and both my heart necklaces. This was apparently the theme of the day, haha. I bought this dress last week from H&M, it has a ruffled neckline and it is sooo soft and flowy. I actually bought two...the other one is a nude colour with black polka dots. And Bryce thought they were completely different dresses, he didn't realize that they're the same cut and fit. Oh boy.

Well this dress was just dying to be worn with my leopard print belt and red cardigan, it just had to be done. And my red trench just screamed to be added. I have never owned a plain black dress until now (I KNOW! ridiculous, right?) it's such a simple staple, but I am usually blinded by pretty prints to buy something simple like this. But I am glad I did, because it is definitely a great addition to my wardrobe.

Hello there! As many of you know, my camera lens got murdered by my tripod last week and I am without my child for 4-6 weeks. But my very sweet father brought his work camera home this week for me to use when he does not need it! It is an olympus E-330 so it's not tooo bad. It's the same camera I had before I upgraded to my Canon D50. I still miss my canon but it's nice to know I have something I can use every now and then :)
I wore this to work earlier in the week, I really liked this look! I felt very comfortable in it. I bought this denim top from H&M last week and I want to wear it with everrrything, it's so soft. And this skirt is something I thrifted a few weeks, and just recently hemmed. It was a weird awkward length on me and looked super frumpy. But I cut it and now I really love the way it looks. I couldn't not buy it because the print is awesome, it buttons all the way up the front and it was a whole $5. AND it has pockets.
When I came home from work my mom was super excited about my outfit which I thought was super cute. She loves the skirt and was so impressed I thrifted and then hemmed it. What a funny lady.
Last week when I was without a camera every single outfit I put together worked really well but I couldn't photograph it! Now that I have some sort of photographing device I can't seem to put two pieces together. So I am going to go play in my closet, get inspired by blogs and then go off to work!

Thank you all for all the well wishes about my camera/bunny yesterday! I really appreciate it, it's so nice to have people who feel my pain!!

Anyways these are pictures I took monday, before the accident. I got really sick monday & tuesday, just sore throat etc. But monday to try to feel better, I went shopping with one of my best friends and we ate spicy soup. I love the fit and print of this skirt, it's definitetly one of my favorite ones. And this vintage gingham top I got in victoria is so awesome, and I want to pair it with evvverything. So sometimes you just have to take two of your favorite pieces and wear them together. Even bryce approved of the outfit (which he never does when it involves high waisted skirts, silly boy)

Oh, so it's snowing like a madman outside today, it's disgusting! It looks like all the snow that's melted is coming back...boooo

The title is me cursing profanely.

Yesterday while taking my outfit pictures one of the legs on my tripod collapsed taking down my child (my canon 50D). The UV filter shattered and wedged itself to the actual lens, the lens isn't shattered but won't zoom. And my portable flash was cracked. So for the next 4-6 weeks I only have the body of my SLR, because everything else has been shipped out to be fixed. Saying I'm upset is a huge understatement.

I'm thinking about finding a cheap lens in the meantime because I photograph EVERYTHING, everyday. I was thinking a used 50mm or perhaps a 70-200mm, any suggestions on lenses? My brother says the 50 is great for portraits, which I do a lot of for friends/family, but for outfit photos? I can find either of those for used on ebay for not too bad. But I'd like some customer feedback.

Also, I went to get my boy rabbit a $15 teeth trim today which turned into a $280 doctors appointment for him. So when it rains it pours, I am officially poor. But I really can't imagine going 4-6 weeks without a camera....I have a couple outfit posts I took before my tripod decided it hated my life that I can use still. Stay tuned!

ps. My camera is over warrenty by 6 months, whoo hoo getting to pay to fix it allll myself

Time of the Season

Hi there lovely ladies! I hope you all had a good weekend, I sure did, today is pretty much my "sunday". I went shopping with my good friend and we ate spicy thai chicken noodle soup! Went to the gym & now I am watching the last episode of the walking dead. Good day, oh yes. I bought some pretty thangs I hope to share with you soon. I bought a blazer last week that I loooved, but I wore it for an hour & it started rubbing my scar and it even popped some small blood vessels in my other arm. Weeeird! So I exchanged it for some other goodies :)

These pictures are from friday when I was finallly in a good mood again. This look is pretty similar to the last time I wore this dress but I love it's pattern. Annd this time I wore it....WITHOUT TIGHTS! Until I went to work, because I felt scandalous haha. I frolicked around outside for a while and it was so nice and warm. I print mixed the floral dress with my leopard print belt, I really like the way they look together. I also have insanely bright orange nails and yellow sunglasses.
