Colour Injection

 photo blazer_zpsc6137592.jpg
Good Morning lovelies, it's technically a holiday today "Family day" so everyone gets the day to hang out with family I suppose? My parents and I went for brunch yesterday to skip the rush that would be there today and it was wonderful. I haven't gone out for brunch in so long!
I'm so sick of taking my pictures myself, I had my tripod set up here and it's pretty secluded but on this day a man stopped and stared and just watched me. Didn't say a word. Awkward. Anyways I picked up this blazer to inject some much needed colour into my wardrobe. I can't decide whether it's orange or red, but we'll pretend it's red and therefore appropriate for heart month. It's a great pop of colour, especially with this striped dress I had forgotten I own. Love rediscovering pieces like this! Is it spring yet?

  5. That dress is fantastic! I love black and white stripes, they're so versatile!

I never really understand why some people find the need to stop and stare at things like this. I can understand a double take and a brief moment of curiosity, but I don't think it's exciting enough to stand there watching/staring.

  6. That wicked streak through your hair makes this outfit that much better. I also love your nails, and how they contrast with the red of your jacket.

  7. I say it's red! Anyway, I think it's really cute and I wish there was a Winners here in the US. I already checked... No dice! I get really weird when people watch me take pictures. I get self conscious and clam up and then my pictures look horrible. Luckily, the weird dude didn't affect you because you look fabulous!

  9. I never heard of Family Day before as a holiday in Canada but I just read about on someone else's blog. I guess today was sort of a family day for me being that I was visiting my parents (though it was actually President's Day here).

Enough rambling - could this outfit be anymore perfect with your hair!! Something about red and black and white is such a classy and bold combination....I need to wear more of. That little striped dress is darling Jenna!

  13. I always laugh when I see the way people stare when I'm working on blog photos... you'd think they'd never seen someone photographing themselves! Haha. Anyway, the combination of that blazer and that dress is dreamy. I love it.

  14. I love the blazer, I was just thinking I should pick up a few to wear over dresses to work! I only have black and grey, bo-ring. Glad you had a nice brunch with the fam, brunch is pretty much my favorite meal ever and always feels like such a treat!

  15. I would say the blazer is an orangey red, best of both worlds. Fun outfit and totally awkward about the random man staring. Yikes!

  20. Oh, the joys of taking photos - I think my favourite is now, living in Paris, groups of tourists sometimes stop to watch us. Whole bus tours. Sometimes they even take pictures, like we were shooting for Vogue or something. So awkward. The things we do for our blogs ;) I'm loving your straightened hair in these shots, it really accentuates the unique cut you have. And the combination of navy, white and red is always a winner in my book :)

  21. Oh boy.. hah that would have been uncomfortable with that man staring at you! You look amazing in these photos... no one could ever tell how awkward you must have felt! haha

  22. Haha, I'm not brave enough to take my tripod and do pictures outside on my own! I feel awkward enough when I get friends/family to take my picture. People are always slightly confused. I did get business cards made so in theory I could be like "THIS is why, I'm not a narcissist..." but it's definitely awkward. ;p
