It would appear over the past couple weeks that winter is here and here to stay. The temperatures have dropped to the negative teens (Celsius) and there is snow up and over my ankle booties. While depressing as this may be, it is getting me excited for Christmas! To combat the depression of the cold I took a peak back into the archives to get excited for winter dressing. The best part? Cozy layers! Sweaters, tights, booties, lace and scarves oh my! Just because it's cold outside doesn't mean it's time to give up, it's time to get creative. Fleece lined tights under dresses with a cute sweater and scarf are a way I plan on staying cozy and stylish these next few (5-6) months!

As the temperature dropped over the past 2 days I thought I would round up some of my favourite looks from last fall for some inspiration for this autumn season. Having a blog makes it very easy to visually shop your own closet. I am definitely feeling the mustard, cozy sweaters, plaid and oxblood for fall again this year. I am so excited for sweater weather, to throw on a sweater, coat and scarf and be so cozy. After such a bright, hot, and colourful summer it'll be fun to wear some neutrals, saturated jewel tones and enjoy the crispness that is in the air.

Past Spring Favourites

With the way the weather's been here lately I'm starting to wonder if spring will ever show up. This time last year we had NO SNOW, and it was quite a bit warmer. I am yearning for lighter layers, to put my winter coat and tights away for a few months and let my skin breath!! I decided to feature some of my favourite spring looks from last year to keep myself inspired and looking ahead to warmer weather.

PS. Can we just marvel at how much longer my hair was. To be honest I don't miss it, I love how easy my new length is!

3 year blogaversary

I can barely believe it myself but it's somehow been 3 years of blogging at Smitten! I thought I'd pick some favourite outfits of mine from the past 3 years, it's kind of crazy to see how my style/hair/photography has changed and evolved from the beginning. I think that's the best part of having a blog is to see that evolution of over time. 

The past 3 years have seen me through some personal highs and a lot of lows, and this blog has been more than just a style diary for me. I started it as a creative outlet but more than that, as some personal inspiration to basically keep getting dressed everyday when shit wasn't good. And it worked, as horribly lame as it sounds sometimes just forcing yourself to get up and put on something that makes you smile can bring you a bit of joy. I want to thank all my followers old and new for your comments and support over the past few years!! It really does means a lot :D
