Gingham Dress-F21
This is nothing more I adore than a good print, and there are some that are just instant classics, like Gingham! I picked up this dress at the very beginning of this summer and it proved to be the ultimate summer piece. Now that the temperatures have dropped I plan on making it work for winter too. It's such an easy, comfortable piece (which has pockets!) which makes it easy to style. I love getting bang for my buck with my clothes, so it's exciting to find pieces that can be so easily restyled and you don't have to break the bank! I've styled it for fall with red and mustard, I can definitely picture it being a great piece for winter layers and getting cozy

Autumn in the Snow

 photo ging_zps5e944eb3.jpg
Good Mornin' Lovers. I hope you're enjoying your shorter week, I do love me a shorter week but when your week is filled with deadlines it can be confusing. Tuesday feels like Monday, but it most certainly is not! But the bad is balanced out with the good as I have tickets to the hockey game this evening and Matt Good tomorrow night!
Gingham is my go to print for summer, but I am pleased to see that it works just as flawlessly for fall (even though it appears to be winter now). Paired with two very "fall" colours such as rust and mustard it's an easy transition. Not only do these pieces give this black and white dress a much needed pop of colour, they are keeping me toasty warm. I love figuring out ways to style my summer dresses for winter, because there's nothing sadder than the thinning out of my wardrobe in the winter months.
. We have to deal with cold and snow 6 months out of the year, is it really too much to ask for an extensive wardrobe to go along with that too?!

Back Alley Misadventures

 photo checks5_zps3b48cd7a.jpg
Hey There! I hope your weekend was as good as mine :)
So I decided to take some photos while I was in downtown Edmonton after having lunch with a friend. So I drove around looking for a location and settled on this alley because I liked the wall. So I set up my tripod and start shooting, then there's some middle aged construction workers smoking and watching me. They then inform me that there are used needles all over the place where I'm taking pictures. And there are in fact, piles of used needles. What a great spot to take photos...I do hope you appreciate the results of that weird adventure.
This gingham dress is easily one of my summer favourites, so comfortable, has pockets and works with everything. I love the combination of black/white/mustard so this outfit was a no-brainer. I really do love the simplicity that goes into summer dressing, for me the way to spice up any summer dress is just with loads of accessories, and funky nail polish.

Physical Graffiti

 photo GRAFFITI_zps735bd935.jpg
Good Morning loves! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! Mine was really great, went camping with my friends and had a lot of fun. It was really nice to turn my phone off for a couple days and take a break from technology, I feel like that's something I should do more often. I hadn't been camping in quite a while, and even though on the second night it rained a lot it was still the best weekend.
I was fighting the sun when I took these pictures, I was slowly loosing shadow and had to race to get them done! A serious blogger problem, especially when I'm taking photos with my stupid tripod, in a back alley, in a busy area. I can't tell you enough how much I love this lace top, it's such a versatile piece and goes with everything. I love having stuff like that, it makes getting dressed in the morning so much easier. I paired it with this awesome gingham dress, belted it overtop and viola, a skirt is born.

Studly Gingham

 photo gingham3_zpsea5bdbf6.jpg
Hey There!! It's finally time for the weekend, are you as excited as I am?? It's shaping up to be a busy and fun one :) I am so excited for my brothers graduation this weekend, I couldn't be prouder! It will be great to spend time with my family and celebrate.
I got this dress a little while ago, and I am wearing it allll the time. It's so comfrotable, has pockets and the gingham pattern is so great for summer. It's the perfect piece to add pops of colour to, like with this amazing neon pink purse, and my green nails. This denim vest has very quickly worked it's way into my wardrobe rotation! I love that the studs add a bit of edge to all the feminine dresses I pair it with.

Biiiiicycle, Biiiiicycle

 photo bicycle1_zps4f7aee21.jpg
Hey there doll's I hope you're having a wonderful week!! Mine has been pretty fantastic, I'm back in classes, the weather's been gorgeous and the grass is starting to turn green.
So, my neighbors must think I'm insane and I have the feeling they refer to me as "that girl that takes photos of herself" because I was in the empty lot by my house, by myself with my tripod and bicycle taking these photos yesterday and everyone in the neighborhood saw...I hope you all appreciate the lengths we go to for our blogs, haha.
I have missed riding my bicycle soo much these past 7 months, it's a lovely creation made for me by my two best friends Janelle & Jason. They found this rusted old thing in a shed and redid it just for me! They're kind of the best ever. I decided that this Gingham dress from Eshakti was the perfect thing to wear while cruising, it has pockets! There's also something about gingham just seems so summery to me and it's a little retro just like my bike. And I happen to be wearing eskimos colours (Green and Gold for life!)

Ps. I got more red and some purple in my hair, definitely diggin' it for summer.

We're Not in Kansas Anymore

 photo gingham1_zps87bb123a.jpg
Good Morning loves!! I am off until Saturday in Vancouver with my younger brother to visit our older brother and I couldn't be more excited. We're escaping the Snowpocalpse that has been Edmonton lately and get to frolic (and yes, we will frolic) amidst cherry blossoms and green grass.
When I saw this dress on Eshakti I knew it was the one I wanted to review instantly. Gingham AND pockets, how much more spring/summery could you get? This is what I like to call a Picnic dress, because when I put it on all I want to do is go on a picnic, or ride my bicycle. To me gingham is such a quintessential summer pattern, and you can bet I will be getting a lot of wear out of this dress this spring/summer season. Now we just need that pesky snow to melt...

Quiest Things That No One Ever Knows

Photobucket
Hey Loves, I hope you had a great weekend. I am so exhausted right now, all I want to do is curl up in bed with my Duke and sleep away the day. Which is honestly how I think I'll spend my day, I have the day off for some doctor's appointments etc. Sometimes all you need to cure the blues is some puppy dog love and cuddles
Anyways, this is an outfit for work, it's hard to balance style, comfort and warmth now that winter has settled in. I love this thick gingham button up from Joe Fresh because it's so warm yet versatile and stylish for the winter months. I decided to dress it up with my pleated blush colour skirt and these super cozy booties. I don't wear heels all that much, but these ones are so awesome and have great traction that keeps me from falling on my butt like a fool.
