Better off Red

I am sure it is no surprise to anyone that my favourite colour is red. It's even the colour of my room (and let me tell you, that took several coats of paint), so it's crazy to me that I don't incorporate it more in my wardrobe. I mean, I wear it everyday right now with my hair, but I own surprisingly few red pieces, but I've taken to rectify this grave injustice.

My dad actually got me this scarf for Christmas and it is now my go to. Not only is it my favourite hue (bought for me by Hugh!) but it's incredibly soft and cozy. Perfect to bundle up and add some colour to ensembles such as this one. I have the tendency to lean towards more neutrals in the winter, but that makes it a good backdrop for pieces such as this scarf and this neon purse.

Working With What I Got

Greetings from under the weather county over here. This sinus cold kicked my butt the first couple days this week, holy cow. And let me just state for the record, I am a giant baby when I'm sick, so sorry for everyone who had to interact with me. Thankfully I feel I'm on the upswing today, I no longer sound like a man so that's probably a good thing.
If it's one thing I love about fashion and blogging, it's coming up with different ways to rework my wardrobe. I am not a millionaire (hell, I'm not even a thousandaire) so being able to wear pieces multiple times is pretty important to me. Which is probably why I am ever so found of my crop tops, they work perfectly with skirts and work wonders when you throw them over a dress. This dress has been such a great piece for me this summer and I'm happy to see it transitioning into the fall as well.

Neon Fever

Good Morning and a very happy Friday to you all!! This weekend is a long weekend and I couldn't be more pleased. I work saturday but then it's a girls night out followed by spending Sunday and Monday recharging out at the lake. I definitely will need the rest because I start school on tuesday, ahh, excitment!

This outfit was perfect for one of the hotter days we experienced this week, had to get some wear out of this crop top while it's still hot enough to do so! This skirt is a fairly old but reliable piece, I think it's running on 4 years now and I still find new ways to wear it. Stripes are always such a classic print, and the perfect backdrop to experiment with neon and colourful accessories!

Birthday Gal

Hey There darlings!! Today is officially my 24th birthday, I'm sure I confused everyone with talking about celebrating it this past weekend. I don't know why but I always seem to stretch my birthday celebrations for at least a week (if not two). Go out with friends, birthday lunches, dinner's with my family etc. Does anyone else do this? Or am I just a little birthday attention glutton? Anyways thank you SO much for the birthday wishes, you're all such sweethearts :D

This is what I wore out for my birthday celebration, I've been having a love affair with black, white and punches of colours. This skirt was a recent purchase from the sale section at U.O, I couldn't resist the lace overlay. I paired it with yet another crop top, I mean, I technically only have 4...that's not too many! This one might end up being my favourite yet, I love the semi sheer pattern and the scoop low back of it.

I am off to spend my bday hanging out with my puppy boy and then dinner with the fam!

Got That Summertime Sadness

Hey There, I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!! Mine was really great, we had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday. The end of August is sometimes bittersweet, it's my birthday which is awesome but it means the end of summer! It's been gorgeous here though, which is perfect for me to get the most out of my summer pieces.
This dress is easily one of my favourite summer dresses, the open back, pockets and colourful pattern are the perfect combination for a hot summers day. It's a great piece to just throw on and go, getting in lots of summertime activities. This day that included a really long Mr.Duke walk, and a birthday BBQ for myself and my Godmother. The perfect sunday!!

Hey There Loves!! Time for the start of another week, but after an especially chill weekend, I am ready for it. It was so nice to work out, watch movies all weekend and spend sunday with my gal pals. Brunch is my favourite meal of all time! We went to Urban Diner, which is one of my top picks for brunch, seriously eggs benny or the veg frittata for ever!

I got stopped wearing this Cat dress along whyte ave about 4 or 5 times from people saying they loved it and wanted to know where I got it. I believe this was a fantastic investment and love that I could wear it casually with denim and neon accents and that it's easy to dress up too. Also, how rockin' are these neon orange heels I picked up?!

Black, White and Backless

 

Good Morning Beauties! It's Friday and I am definitely looking forward to the weekend, I'm feeling a bit under the weather though so that's lame. I have a head cold, but it's starting to get better, I had a good work out yesterday, and ate a ton of spicy soup so that should do the trick. Is there anything worse than summer colds?!

Um, I need a haircut, as you can see by these photos. My hair is incredibly thick and with the humidity here lately it's unmanageable and heavy, thankfully I'm getting it thinned out this weekend, so hopefully it'll be looking a lot *tamer* in the future. I couldn't not share these photos with you guys though because this dress is pretty fantastic. Anyone who knows me knows I can't resist a dress with a cut out in the back. Better yet, this little number is lightweight cotton and has stripes. Perfect for those sticky summer days

Summers Staples

Good Morning!! It's friiiiiday, I'm so excited for this weekend, I have a wedding to go to. I love going to weddings, and I'm so stoked to have a couple to go to this summer :) This one is going to be awesome because I've known the one family my whole life!

This is one of my go-to dresses for those hot, humid summer days in the summer. I picked it up back in May and fell in love with the print and colours in it!! It's wonderful because it goes with everything, I decided to pair it with bright pink and orange thing time around. This belt is vintage from my New York trip, and I like the cowboy vibe it has to it. I'm not usually into "western" wear but in accessories it can be a fun accent

Good morning my loves!!! It's friiiiiday, I'm so looking forward to this weekend, I bought tickets to the Edmonton Prospects (baseball) for Saturday night for my best friend and I. We had such an amazing time cheering for beer at the Yankees in NYC that we wanted to revisit that :)

I wore this for my day off on Wednesday exploring Whyte ave and having an amazing time with my best friend Janelle. We went to Sugarbowl, had some tasty food and meandered over to one of my favourite spots in Edmonton. The view here is perfect, I love being able to see downtown! It was so beautiful out and I wanted lots of brights and this lace crop top was the perfect way to layer without being overheated.
