Before you Start:
Come up with some easy goals you want to accomplish by exercising
1. Lose a few lbs (break it down into small increments, healthful weight loss is a process!)
2. Run a 5km race (or a 10km race, or a half marathon!)
3. Have more energy/ elevate your mood
The first 2 here are really specific and visible goals that you can see progress being made, the third one is a wonderful side affect of exercise but isn't as calculable.
Exercise can be a wonderful mood elevator, so if you're feeling stressed, depressed or anxious engaging in physical activity can really help. It can be hard to get motivated, but knowing you'll feel that much better afterwards is something to keep in mind.
Especially when I'm stressed I try to take a break to get a work out in and it always helps clear my head!
PS. Having colourful, funky footwear also helps motivate me and lift my mood ;)

Ooh I love those sneakers Jenna! Mine are so uncool it's ridiculous - I need to invest in some prettier pairs like yours :-) Great goals. My hubs just ran a 5km and now I'm inspired to as well!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, but having colourful workout clothes really does help with motivation for some reason - the gym is the only place I like to wear colour!

Hey dear!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you- its important to take care of the body, since its the one we spend our entire life with. I try to live a lifestyle as healthy as possible :)
You have a really wonderful blog!
Lots of love!
This is all so true. For me, the hardest part is actually getting myself into the gym. Once I'm there, it's all good to go.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your typical workout routine? I've recently discovered the Nike Training Club App and for the last few weeks, I've completely changed my routine and I love it. I'm basically telling everyone I know to give it a go if they need some extra inspiration!
