Hey There loves, I hope you all had a spectacular weekend! As you know I attended my brothers graduation and had a good time with my family. It's crazy that it's been 6 years since I myself graduated high school. I graduated from University last year but I didn't attend my convocation, because honestly they're so long and drawn out. I would be sitting in a room with 500 strangers listening to profs I didn't know giving speeches. I have my diploma and I'm happy with that!
This is my outfit for the convocation in the morning, I love doing black and white with bold pops of colour and this dress is just so perfect. Big bold polka dots and a 1950's fit and flare silohette to it made it work perfectly for a casual, yet dressy look. It was a pretty hectic day, so these photos aren't the best quality, I was rushing my dad through them because I was starving. And I am not a very nice person when I'm hungry (you've been warned...)

I sort of wish I hadn't attend both of my U of A convocations...it's time I'm never getting back. I'm glad I attend my Yale convocation though - they really do it right!

Cute photos!! You look great in that dress!! Hope you had a grea time with the fam! x
ReplyDeleteYou look cute! Though the neon pink with the big black and white dots reminded me of the late 80s/ early nineties a bit. Funny how certain styles recycle themselves through. 50s, 90s, 2010s.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your brother!
My brother's graduation was a couple weekends ago :) Congrats to yours! I really love this dress on you. It actually might be my favorite outfit of yours :D

Very nice post and awesome dress.
ReplyDeleteGraduation ceremonies are always so boring, and yet, they're so exciting (when they're finished).
I was very close to not going to my convocation, but I did. I guess I was glad I went for the photo ops, but I was bored to tears sitting there. I was the only person who LISTENED to the profs who said not to bring your phone with you. Whoops!

You have seriously been rocking bold handbags lately - between the neon yellow one and the mint one you have, and now this one, I don't even know how to pick a favourite. I must say, though, the pink added a fabulous pop to your outfit. And I also have to tell you how smart you were to skip convocation - although I suppose I have some fun photos from the event, overall it was the longest several hours of my life, and since only three other people graduated from my program with me, there wasn't much in it for us!

Your family is so cute Jenna! A big congrats to your brother! I was never one for attending those ceremonies either...both in HS and college. If it weren't for my parents, I wouldn't have even went to my graduation...ha!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty 50s inspired dress and print and you always rock the bright bag/accessories so perfectly! Love, love, love!!

Ooh, I LOVE this dress! You know my weakness for polka dots haha It really is strange how quickly time passes. I'm going on three years since high school, but it feels like it's been ages for some reason. I wish I could sit out my graduation next year since they're SO long, but I think my parents would kill me. Damn. Congrats to your brother!
ReplyDeleteYour polka dot dress is adorable! I have a very similar dress and this reminds me that I need to actually wear it. I'm hoping to get my motivation for coming up with outfits back sometime soon. But that's another story. Anyway, your super bright bag looks great with your dotted dress. And congratulations to your brother too!
ReplyDeleteI didn't go to my college graduation either :D It's hard to believe I've been out of high school so long now. My first reunion has already come and gone (it was 2 years ago. i did not attend)
ReplyDeleteIt's got to be nice to hang out with family and celebrate. You look like you were having fun in all the photos from the weekend :D
