Better in theory

Photobucket

So ever have one of those outfits that seemed better in theory and in your head than they turned out in real life? This would be one of those. It seemed like a great idea. A super feminine gorgeous lace skirt, my denim top knotted over it to add a bit of masculinity. But somehow it just didn’t feel quite right? I wore it all day anyways, just to feel it out see if it felt better as the day went on. I initially wanted to pair it with my gingham top but it’s my first instinct every time, I love it. I think it may have been a combination between a bad hair day and not enough sleep. Oh well! I guess not every outfit can be something you absolutely love. But this skirt is really wonderful, I love the way it moves and the way it feels.

Perhaps I just had a really long day and needed a good rest to be able to function fashionably? Also I feel like I should be making every outfit “count” and try to wear every piece in my wardrobe before I have surgery, because for quite a few weeks I’m going to be living in loose fitting clothes and pyjamas. What a waste of beautiful summer dresses! Hopefully I will make a throrough runthrough of my whole wardrobe before then. Maybe take a lot of photos to have on backup for the month of recovery.

  3. Hmm, I think it's really neat! You look lovely to my eye :) Sometimes I feel really awkward in something and then look back at the photos months later and think, "oh, well that wasn't so bad." The pairing of the denim really works with the lace skirt :)

  4. Yep I agree with the girls above, I think it's really cute! Your post is a reminder for me to get a dneim shirt that I can knot over my dresses :)
Oh and your necklace looks so pretty! What's on the charm? It looks a bit like a shell but I'm not sure (bad eyes?!).

  11. I really love this combination lady! The lace skirt is so very beautiful on its own, and I really like how you paired it with the denim. I have been so into the tied cropped tops lately and I can't stop wearing them now that the summer is warmer. Loving this whole look! xx

  17. I don't know what you're talking about, I think this outfit is fabulous! You look absolutely lovely in it, and I love the retro-vibe of it. If it makes you feel any better I was out for a month post-oral-surgery last summer and it was so depressing...couldn't go out or do anything. But then you're done with it and you have an even better summer because you appreciate the sun so much more! Best of luck with it, I'm sure the recovery will be speedy!
