Good Morning Lovelies! I am really excited for this weekend, I am flying to Vancouver, Hanging out with my friend, my brother and Seeing Neil Young. I'm going to be in Vancouver until Wednesday, where the weather is infinitely better than it is here in Edmonton. On Wednesday we got almost 2 feet of snow, and now it's -15. These pictures are from Tuesday when it was 0 degrees with no snow. Interesting climate, I know.
When I went shopping to Simon's on the weekend it was my first time shopping in over a month and it was awesome and overwhelming. I was in a dreamlike state touching, grabbing and trying things on in a crazed frenzy. But my ban has made me a smarter shopper, I brought with me a list of things I actually needed. My wardrobe seems to be lacking in tops that are versatile and will go with everything, this simple black lace sleeved top has definitely filled a void. It's casual but fun with the lace and super soft. I really loved it paired with this blush/rust coloured skirt and some funky tights and accessories. But my shopping ban which was originally supposed to be until Christmas, will resume again.

I'm jealous that you're getting out of this snow prison for a few days! And I love the top that you picked up, it's definitely versatile and I just love the skirt you paired it with as well.

Having a budget definitely would help too, I was never rigid enough about my budgets, that'll be the next step after the bands over.
DeleteIt is too much snow!!
Since I've been a student or intern for so long now, I'm pretty much always under an involuntary ban from shopping. What that has done though is that when I do have money, I'm much wiser with my choices. Love every single piece you're rocking here!

Haha an involuntary ban, yeah I know that feeling well!! It's nice to invest in pieces you wear a ton, instead of something you wear once and discard
Deleteoh! i love everything on this look especially your skirt and tights!

Thank you so much! I am so in love with these boots too :D
DeleteI dig the color of that skirt tremendously. I came across a maxi almost like that but I didn't get it and now I'm kicking myself! Have a wonderful trip. (:
ReplyDeleteBeing more selective/aware of what my wardrobe needs has made me a better shopper. Not that a splurge might never happen, but I feel like I'm more confident and happy with the purchase when I know its something I'll use lots.
ReplyDeleteOn that note, you look lovely and I adore that top.
My wardrobe definitely lacks versatile tops too. I have a ton of thrifted patterned button downs and hardly anything plain enough to pair with my patterned bottoms! I love this top you bought. The black lace is so pretty. All of your accessories are great too. I'm in love with your boots and polka dot tights!
