Oh My Heart

Photobucket
Hey Lovelies!! As I alluded to last week I am going to try to do some "heart themed" posts for the month of February because it is Heart and Stroke awareness month. Whenever something "heart" related (think pink, red, outfits, health, etc) inspires me I plan on sharing it with you!

I'd also love for everyone to check out the official Canadian heart and stroke website which has lot's of information and ways to donate to help continue research for heart health! This is pretty important to me, as without the amazing doctors, surgeons, nurses and people who develop new techniques I would not be here. I had a pretty rough experience with my go of it, but I am so grateful that I live in a country where I could get such amazing care by great doctors.

I've got to say since my surgeries I've been kind of obsessed with hearts, heart print, jewellery, and heart health (obviously). So I thought what better time to go with a theme than February?!

Photobucket  When I was in the hospital for the 4th (technically 6th?) surgery, which was finally my open heart surgery, I was so excited to get my heart shaped pillow, I felt like I had earned that pillow! It's the comfiest pillow I own actually.

  5. Oh wow...truly an inspiring post. You are courageous darling! My father-in-law just underwent heart surgery for the same thing John Ritter had (I forget the name) and that along with recovery has been a difficult thing, so I can only imagine what you've been through. Thanks for sharing a piece of your heart with us:) Looking forward to seeing more heart themed posts. xx Marisa

  7. Yay I love this post! You're amazing. Post-surgery pictures are always the best, right? Something about it makes us look like we were in there rolling around or something. Yours doesn't look too bad for a post-surgery picture, though! The heart pillow is very cute too.

  11. Hey, I'm back to the blogosphere, couldn't wait to drop in here :)
This is such an amazing post, I didn't even know there was a month dedicated to hearts and stroke. Usually the poeple only know World Aids Day (and most sadly don't even care), but it's a good thing that special organisations try to draw the attention to other health topics too!
And may I say - as far as I can tell - you scar has healed so well! Kudos for showing such an "intimate" thing here and for blogging about it, I think this makes lots of people aware of heart diseases too!

    You're amazing :)
