(insert fake irish accent here) Top o' the morning to ya. And a Happy St. Patricks day! My dad's family is originally from Ireland so I always particularily enjoyed st. Patricks day. We used to set a trap with a clover plant, cardboard box and wooden spoon to try to trap a leprechaun every year. Now while we never actually caught one, we usually ended up with some interesting green treats, or a leprechaun stuffed animal. And of course, green milk, yum.
In high school one of my teachers nickname for me was actually just "irish" or, when I was pissing him off, "black irish" haha. With the last name of Donovan, what can I expect really? And I definitely have the irish temper, which I most certainly inherited from my father. I don't think of the irish as an angry people, we're just passionate! No?

So in honour of ol' St. Patrick, I coated my nails in a deliciously lime green colour and put on my green flannel. Which I knotted and wore over my cotten denim looking shirt dress. To be fair a few weeks back I wore a very similar outfit (purple/white dress) just because I like the way the green flannel looks worn like this. It's a little bit country? In a cute way I think. I added some polka dot tights today with some flats and my green necklace.

ps. I plan on consuming at least one green beer after work today. I suggest you do the same.
Love your skirt! Is it a denim wash?
ReplyDeleteMy family is Irish as well but we never did anything for the holiday other than what our schools did. Ah well.
It is a denim wash! And soo comfy. Also, you asked about a hair tutorial and that sounds like a lot of fun, if I can find our video camera I might have to do that :)

ReplyDeleteHappy Saint Patrick's day! You were clearly celebrating the holiday in style... I just love that lime-coloured nailpolish. As soon as your page opened, my eyes went right to it. What a fabulous colour :) I love your story about leprechaun traps, too. I'd never heard of such a thing, but I guess that's probably because my family is Welsh, so we tend not to do too much celebrating on March 17th :)
